In the last part of 2020, I received a note from a listener asking me if i ever considered any extended mixes of my longer tracks. That question made me laugh a bit, since my longer tracks seemed pretty "extended" as they were.

But the idea was intriguing, and it sounded like it could be a fun experiment. So I picked a longer track from my back catalog, put it in my recording software, and after a few hours of playing with it, i had a track that was completely......

Terrible. And you'll never hear that track; i could not delete it fast enough.

But, still- the idea stayed in my head, and so right before Christmas 2020, I thought that i'd try this approach again with my song "Hidden Shores". It quickly became clear that this song was quite suited for an extended mix. Repeated listens (something i don't normally do with my music once it's released) gave me a new appreciation for the song; what had previously been the opening track to the "Hidden Shores/Empty Beach" album was now a "complete album statement" of its own. It also had a way of slowing down time (in a good way) with each listen- and i hope it does the same when you listen.
