The songs on “The Road Ahead” were composed in the final weeks of 2023, born of year-end reflection. While more songs were composed, these three seemed to encapsulate the feel and memories of the past year: the lonely, almost plaintive sound of “Serenity Fields”, the resigned acceptance in “Quiet Legacies”, and the simultaneous looking back and looking forward found in “the Road Ahead”.

In this respect, “The Road Ahead” is something like a postcard to the world, or a year-end holiday newsletter, only in music.

And like a postcard or holiday newsletter, “The Road Ahead” is short, with the hopes that it will give some quick calm during a busy and hectic time of the year when calm is sometimes hard to find.
